I purchased this flat iron a few weeks ago at a mall kiosk. The woman used it on my hair and allowed me to do the same prior to buying it. I have really thick coarse hair that is borderline impossible to work with. This is by far the best straightener I have ever owned. My hair went from a wavy frizzy mess to straight, smooth, and beautiful. I am going to upload a before and after photo that speaks for itself. My only complaint is that the sales woman claimed that $106 was an amazing price, but clearly it is not that fabulous because Folica beats it. Oh, and it does pull at the hair a little more than I like, but I have tons of hair anyway and the end result is so worth it. I highly recommend this to anyone with thick unmanageable hair.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE AMIKA STYLER. I HAVE VERY NATURALLY CURLY THICK HAIR. I LOVE WEARING MY HAIR CURLY SOMETIMES, BUT I ALSO LOVE WEARING MY HAIR STRAIGHT. I STOPPED MESSING WITH MY HAIR BECAUSE THE FLAT IRONS I USED BEFORE MADE THE PROCESS OF GETTING MY HAIR STRAIGHT VERY LONG TO THE POINT I JUST STOPPED DOING IT. I LET THEM TRY THE AMIKA ON MY HAIR AT THE MALL AND FELL IN LOVE WITH IT AND HAD TO BUY IT. SOOO STRAIGHT IN WAY LESS TIME THAN IT WOULDVE TAKEN HAD I USED MY REGULAR IRON. RIGHT NOW IM IMPRESSED. IF THAT CHANGES I'LL LET YOU KNOW. BUT RIGHT NOW, BEST IRON I'VE EVER OWNED, LOOKS LIKE I JUST LEFT MY STYLIST :)

I just received this in the mail today as an early birthday gift. I couldn't wait to use it, and when I did it was so good. My hair is shiny and soft, I can't help running my fingers through it. The tool heats up fast, and it's very easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone ! (:

ok so i wrote a review oh how great my hair looked with curls when the guy at the mall used it. but now i am convinced i made a good choice. today is wednesday and i strengthened it myself on sat. my hair still looks great, shiny, and i cant believe it i havent washed it yet. usually with the maxi-glide which i gave away (because it fried my hair) or the andis ceramic flat iron from sallys my hair looks dry, frizzy within a day. with the amika hair styler i can do my hair at the beginning of the week and wear it straight all week long. i love it. i also got as a gift the hair cream and i think that helped too. my hair looks healthier, feels soft i am really impressed -- its worth getting this hair styler. can anyone tell me if i should get the blowdryer too? i have an andis

I was shopping at the mall and planning to go to the hair salon when the sales rep approached me. my hair was not washed that day and was up. he started strengthening and curling some of my hair and immediately my hair looked shinier, the color was refreshed, it felt silky and soft. i love it. i looked like i just stepped out of the salon. i went out that night and i felt sexy with my hair style. i own a maxiglide and it damaged my hair so i gave it away. the only thing that bothers me is that the sales rep said the original price is 200. but that he gave me a deal of 149 throwing in a free conditioner and hair cream.
i am really upset seeing this price on line of 116. payed 160 with tax. i feel like he didnt give me a good deal at all. i have not tried to do my hair myself so lets see if i will keep it. i say for the cost of going to the salon to strenghten my hair, it just might be worth the price.

it straightens my hair BUT it pulls the crap out of it!! it hurts, and it gets frizzy after a while and i have curly frizzy hair....i wouldn't get this product, i returned mine...

The Amika straightener is better than any other straightener I have used. It doesn't pull my hair and it makes it soft and shiny and it doesn't do as much damage to your hair as some other products do. In my opinion it is a very good investment =]

I LOVE IT MY HAIR IS STRAIGTER THAN EVEN
I CAN MAKE MY HAIR CURLY WITH THIS FLAT IRON .. I SEEN THEM AT THE MALL AND I WAS LIK MAN THEY LOOK AWESOME SO I TRIED IT AND IT WAS AMAZING BEST IVE EVER USED

It works like any other flat iron. As a matter of fact I am going back to my Maxiglide. At least it has combs in it and it keeps my hair flat ironed. There is nothing amazing about this Amika, I have wavy frizzy curls. When I used the Maxiglide my hair is fine and when I used the Amika my hair frizzes. I wanted to return it but I could not unfortunately, it's too late. It's not that great and I agree no wonder it's not a top 10 on Folica.
Dont Buy Amika!

These irons are not good at all. Mine fell apart in less then a week and when I tried to contact someone for a replacement at amika I was treated like a second class citizen by some woman with a think accent. Im not one to complain but this was just out of hand. Folica should dump this product and there is definitely a reason why amika is not on their top 10 flat iron brands. I would recommended a CHI any day of the week.

I've had this iron for almost a month now and so far, still doing it's great job. My hair is healthier than before. I used to have the Remington flat iron, it was fine but after a few months later my hair was damaged, frizzy and lots of split ends. I didn't realized that iron was damaging my hair until I bought the Amika hair straightener iron. I have a short thick wavy hair and done in 5-10 mins using amika. I'm so glad I picked amika and didn't buy another cheap iron in drugstore. I highly recommend this iron. YOu will not regret it.

It does fairly work well, but it still makes my hair frizzy after a couple of hours and does not stay straight throughout the day, but that can also be my hair
but over all its good
So NOT worth it!

First of all the people who sell this product definately try to rip you off. The flat iron is extremely pricey and not worth it. I bought an amika straightner and had to return in a few days later because it fell ON CARPET and cracked. So it was replaced and a few months later it cracked again.. and this time I don't even know why. The thing basically falls apart and now rips, pulls, and burns my hair. You really shouldn't even consider this flat iron.
Amazing! A must have.

This styler really made my day. The annoying man from the PhasionVillage carts in the middle of the mall were literally bugging me but I WAS looking for a good flat iron. So he tried it on e and i fell in LOVE! I bought the purple one and it is AWESOME. :) awesome. I love it. :) But the cortex design in nearly the same. :S weird. ALso, it gives some split ends if you don't use the replenishing serum by amika. exept ican't get it cuz its SO expensive! So i use a leave-in and tresemme heat protectant. :) i love this straightener! i hv curled with it and waved with it before. :)

the delivery took 7 days to come from the day it was shipped so that wasn't too bad
& the straightner works great! it lasts for days

Ive had this product for about two years, it works pretty well in the beginning, but now it seems not to work as well as it use to, but it still gets the job done. bad new about it though; warning, mine shortened off 5 days ago. a.k.a the wire exploded & sparked up. & i couldn't use it again. but this time im trying the Solia.
A MUST HAVE!!!

I just got them 2 weekend ago and i love it Im African American have not have a perm in almost 3yr and when i used the flat iron, my hair was so straight, soft with body and it did not frizz up in at all. ps your hair dont smell like heat after straight.

i have had this product for about 6 months now and it is amazing i have thick course hair and after i run it over it one its straight and shiny i recomend this product to anyone
