Don't waste 101E on a cotton ball. The bottle is not that large and the cotton will just soak up too much. Just put a few drops in the palm of your hand and use your clean fingers to apply and rub in.

Another easy way to apply the lotion is to put it in a little spray bottle. just spray i guess about 6 inches away from your face (close your eyes) and then just rub it in. It alot easier to do it on your back too. i use those little sample perfumes bottles they give away at stores, there good cuz there small and you can carry them around in a purse or your pocket. just be sure you clean them out well

I apply the lotion with those circular cotton wool pads you get at pharmacies/supermarkets etc. The pads are nice and soft and don't aggravate the skin. Gently apply the 101E in the morning after washing the affected areas. Take the bottle and a cotton pad in your bag with you to work or school and apply the lotion again at lunchtime. This can be done in a cubicle if privacy is an issue. Apply again at bedtime and you're skin will look better in the morning.

I found the cleanest way to apply the marvellous Acne 101 Getaway is to purchase a painters brush. Boil some water and clean the tip of the brush. Then dunk the brush into the solution and gently paint on the lotion! I know it sounds funny but the brushes are very soft and cause no irritation, plus it can be easily cleaned in hot water every time. Just remember, your not causing any aggravation, your gently massaging and it's the most hygienic method i can think of. I found after 2 weeks of this method my skin had completely cleared. Good luck guys

I'd like to second the advice of the person who recommended not using a cotton ball to apply this product to your face. Not only is it friction that can aggravate your skin, but no matter how well you wash your face, you may just be moving dirt and oil from one place to another on your skin. I pour a bit into the center of my palm and then apply the product to my face with my other hand. Because of the watery consistency it spreads easily (more and more as your face clears up).
A tip for those who are using the Lush soaps to wash their face before using 101E. I noticed one person said that the bar of soap lasts them about a month. I also use Lush products (the Coal Face rather than Fresh Farmacy) and I cut pieces off of the big bar and use those, instead of the full bar. I can use one piece of the bar for well over a month, so I think you are washing most of your bar down the drain. One bar of soap lasts me ages and ages (meaning more $$$ to buy 101E). I do think using a good soap on your face is important, no matter what product you use.
Hope that helps.

Make sure you pierce the rubber piece on the bottle. The instructions do not mention this and I squeezed the bottle, the tip flew and went down my sink!

If you've got severe acne (like I did), applying 101E onto a cotton bud or something like that isn't going to help things - as acne is aggravated by friction. Instead, wash your face thoroughly with warm water and soap, then apply a small amount onto the centre of your palm, and gently massage into your face. This is a far better approach than rubbing anything artificial around your face. If you are new to this product, application may sting a little at first, but as the healing begins (after 3 or 4 days) - your skin will get very much used to it.
